Quality
From a simple everyday bake to an elaborate showstopper we pride ourselves in creating both delicious and beautiful handcrafted cakes and biscuits. At the heart of all we do is that we never settle for second best, using only the finest ingredients and exacting standards. We care.
Our bakeries have been awarded BRC AA+ in 2023 and 2024, we are members of SEDEX, and we are frequently audited by our customers to ensure that we produce safely and to the highest industry standards.
Our Team
We firmly believe that people can only make beautiful, delicious and delicate cakes if they love what they do, and this will only happen if they feel valued. We are committed to our staff and it is their care and dedication that is reflected through our products. We do not use agency staff, employ anyone on zero hour contracts, or give reduced working hours. We do not work shifts or work Sundays.
Sustainability
In 2022 we installed solar panels on one of our bakeries. The first major step in our sustainability journey and our mission to reduce our carbon footprint.
We do our best to produce minimal food waste but any waste we do have is processed into animal feed. Any surplus cakes and ingredients are available for our staff to purchase and all proceeds go to our chosen local charity Rainbow’s Childrens Hospice.
We use the finest ingredients and packaging which we source from trusted suppliers as locally as possible. We use sustainable palm oil, from RSPO accredited sources, and we’re developing more palm oil free recipes. We source our cocoa powder from Rainforest Alliance approved sources.
Community and Charity
From the very beginning Fiona Cairns Ltd has supported many charities both locally and nationally. The charity which is closest to our hearts is the Leicestershire charity - Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, a very unique place in Loughborough.
As a hands-on ambassador, Fiona makes regular visits with the team, and armed with our cupcakes, icings and sprinkles we all share the pleasure of cake with the children, their families and staff. We also fundraise in as many ways we can think of through the year - Fiona Cairns Park Run, curry night, raffles and cake sales.
