Spring into Easter

At Fiona Cairns, we know Easter is here once we get that first almondy-ambrosial morsel of simnel cake. Simply THE cake for right now, the 11 marzipan balls represent the apostles (minus Judas, who doesn’t deserve any) and ours are hand-rolled, as always, just like the oh-so-dainty marzipan flowers. If you fancy marking the occasion by baking something yourself, we have two delicious NEW recipes on our website for you to try out.

A late Easter might mean good weather for egg hunts, but if April showers rain you off then why not hold your hunt inside? As a refreshing change, kids young and old will love searching for our fun rabbit-and-chick gingerbread lollipops, sweet chick-and-egg fairy cakes or indulgent chocolate Easter cupcakes, too.

Whether egg-hunting or not, it's the very best time of year for it, so whether you have an urban patch, rolling acres or a sunny windowsill, a garden centre makes an excellent hang-out for the long Easter weekend. While you sip tea after buying bedding plants, consider perusing the shelves: rich pickings for putting together a classic British tea-party hamper for someone who deserves it. You’ll find plenty of our delicious FC cakes (for a full list of stockists, visit https://www.fionacairns.com/find-us).

And if you are looking for a simpler gift, then nothing beats our delicious gift cakes. They come in two delightful flavours; Pink Boutique (a smaller version of our classic) and Chocolate (who doesn’t love chocolate at Easter!) both available at selected Waitrose stores and on Ocado. Deliver your gifts in time for St George’s Day on 23rd April to make the English saint’s day the occasion it deserves to be this year.

Whilst we're talking dates, come and see us at the Farm Shop & Deli show (7th–9th April) if you’re around the Midlands, we'll have lots of tasty treats on offer.
