Ah, the clink of champagne flutes, the peal of church bells, the quiet squelch as your fancy high heels sink into soft turf… wedding season is upon us again. We couldn’t be more delighted, as we adore a wedding, especially when it’s topped off with a Fiona Cairns cake, available from Waitrose Entertaining. We’re still going strong with Waitrose after 20 years and our wedding cakes – golden sponge, or a please-everyone mix of sponge, fruit and chocolate tiers – are the ideal blank canvas for adorning with your wedding’s colour and floral themes. Don’t forget the father of the bride either, as Father’s Day arrives on 16th June. I bet he’d love to dig into a delicious plate of confetti fairy cakes, ideal for celebrating National Picnic Week, which starts the very next day, so add a box to your next Ocado shop.

And Happy Midsummer! We’re making the most of the long days to be outside as much as possible, despite the vagaries of the British weather. Why not celebrate with quintessentially British fondant fancies? These sweet squares are thought to be 100 years old and we love the memories of a traditional UK childhood they bring.
